Liverpool could still surprise fans with more transfers in the next window to address their problem area in the middle of the park.
According to Ben Jacobs of CBS Sports on Twitter, the Reds are keeping a close eye on Moises Caicedo along with a number of Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, who are now managed by former Brighton manager Graham Potter.
Liverpool’s interest in Moisés Caicedo is long-standing, since his time at Independiente del Valle. The challenge back then was a complicated representation situation with multiple agencies (including Kancha and PSM) claiming to act on his behalf.

Caicedo has admitted that “no one would turn down an offer from Chelsea or any other club like that. It would be a dream to be in the best teams in the world.” And last year he told The Athletic: “My dream is to play for Manchester United. Antonio Valencia is an example to follow.”

Brighton would want at least £50m and Potter’s own (joking) valuation won’t help if #CFC enters the race. When asked about a reported £42m offer from Liverpool this summer, he replied: “I’d probably get his boots for that from the chairman maybe! £100m?” ????

If both teams in question compete for the Ecuadorian’s signature in the next window, there is no doubt that the Blues would have an advantage in that regard.

That, of course, without considering the 20-year-old’s apparent interest in moving to Manchester, having recently expressed his ambition to follow in the footsteps of Antonio Valencia.

Also for £50m, we may feel the best option is to save funds for the transfer fight set to take place in the summer for Borussia Dortmund’s ‘standout’ teenage prodigy Jude Bellingham.
Even with a potential cost in the region of £131.6m, one could imagine that Julian Ward will still be on the lookout for more midfield additions, given that we could potentially lose as many as three options in that department in the summer.
