Frank Warren believes Fury vs Joshua can still happen on Dec. 3

Tyson Fury says any hope of a December 3 fight with Anthony Joshua has come and gone, as he publicly shut down negotiations when Joshua and Matchroom missed a 5pm BST deadline on Monday, but that doesn’t necessarily and it really means that everything is over.

Fury’s promoter, Frank Warren, told talkSPORT that the deal can be done despite Fury saying it’s off:

“Tyson has told me what he wants. They have 10 days of contract and he has lost patience. We’re trying to make it work and we had a good meeting today so we’ll see what happens. … We are not that far from December 3rd. We have to put it up for sale. The place is reserved, but there is a lot of organization involved.”

Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, chimed in simply to agree, basically:

Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs) could fight Mahmoud Charr in an event of smaller magnitudes and would surely guarantee him far less money, publicity and attention, and in fact it is Charr he is targeting as a replacement. .

But the Joshua (24-3, 22 KO) fight is much bigger, much more money, and all of this is “over!” things really keep the spotlight on him until Fury actually signs on and announces something different, or Joshua does.

So we’ll see. I’m still not convinced this is really wrong, but they probably need to figure it out no later than next week if they’re going to do it on December 3rd.
