With long blonde hair, effortless technical touch and Croatian nationality, it was only a matter of time before Lovro Majer was dubbed the “New Modric”.

Although the 24-year-old still has a long way to go to match the Real Madrid legend’s feat, he has done enough to attract the attention of some of Europe’s top clubs.

According to the Daily Mirror via Calciomercato, Juventus have joined a long queue of suitors who are willing to fight for the services of the Stade Rennais midfielder.

The source assures that Real Madrid, Atlético de Madrid and Barcelona dispute the signing of the Croatian. However, the source mentions Arsenal as the current favorites to land the rising star.

The report believes the Ligue 1 side have set their asking price at €49m. This would secure Rennes a huge windfall, having signed Majer from Dinamo Zagreb for just €12m just over a year ago.

When it comes to the most sought-after players on the market, Juventus is always on the list. However, the old lady rarely gets her way these days when she faces such elusive competition from Spain and England.

With Majer’s price reportedly set at around €50m, you can always expect another club to outbid the Bianconeri, unless they go all out for the Croatian.
