Double international boost & 2 managers up for award – Latest Liverpool FC News – Liverpool FC

Two players who have been out of international duty have offered Liverpool a timely boost ahead of Saturday’s clash with Brighton, while two managers are up for an award.

England’s loss is Liverpool’s gain!

News emerged this morning that Trent Alexander-Arnold had been omitted from the England squad to face Germany in their final match before the World Cup begins.

How Gareth Southgate can afford to make a decision like that at a time when his side have not won in five games and haven’t scored a goal in three, we’re not quite sure.

However, the Liverpool right-back will sit out the Wembley game, meaning he should be fresh and nice for the Reds’ meeting with Brighton on Saturday.

So will Mohamed Salah, who was relieved early from international duty after it was decided he would sit out Tuesday’s friendly with Liberia.

Salah scored twice in his team’s 3-0 win over Niger on Friday, but will now return to Merseyside ahead of Liverpool’s busy pre-World Cup schedule.

The news was confirmed on the Egyptian Football Associations Twitter page on Sunday night, with striker Mostafa Mohamed and defender Ahmed Fatouh also left out of the squad for Tuesday’s match.

Let’s hope that those involved in the latest international matches come out unscathed in the days to come!

Another Watford manager gone! Rob Edwards lasted just 10 games, and the Hornets announced they had replaced him with Slaven Bilic on Monday. Baffling! Brighton’s Zambian international Enock Mwepu has returned to England for medical tests after falling ill during a trip to Mali. It is doubtful to face Liverpool this weekend. The loss of England indeed!

Despite Trent’s absence, Jordan Henderson could return from injury in England’s game with Germany tonight.

Academy prospects Bobby Clark and Ranel Young could play for England’s under-18 team against Belgium.
