Joyce took a lot of heavy hits from the speedy combo hitter Parker, but she constantly wore him down with her pressure.
It looked like Parker was starting to loosen up as early as the fourth, but he fought on valiantly until finally getting knocked out with a left hook from Joyce in the 11th.
The guy Joyce wants now is IBF/WBA/WBO champion Oleksandr Usyk, since he is the mandatory WBO for the champion. However, it is doubtful that Usyk will fight Joyce because he has already listed the opponents he wants before retiring after his next three fights. Unfortunately, Joyce is not on Usyk’s list.
If Fury beats Usyk in February or March, there’s a good chance he won’t fight Joyce because he’s heading toward retirement as well.
“He is incredible, very tough. He is a true warrior,” Ismael Salas told BT Sport Boxing about the heart Joseph Parker showed against Joe Joyce.
