Jared Anderson: “I Would Love To Fight Daniel Dubois”

Although his heavyweight journey has only just begun, Jared Anderson is enjoying it all.

The highly touted prospect from Toledo, Ohio has instructed everyone that Top Rank, his current promotion company, has put in front of him. With 12 in-ring appearances resulting in 12 consecutive knockout wins, the 22-year-old yearns for a legitimate challenge.

However, Anderson is well aware that the likelihood of him facing a more notable name anytime soon is slim to none. But, during a recent interview with Sky Sports Boxing, Anderson was asked to give his thoughts on a major step forward in competition against Daniel Dubois, the WBA “Regular” belt holder.

“I would love to fight Dubois,” Anderson said.

Dubois, just 25 years old, currently has his eyes set on taking on opponents who are ranked considerably higher than Anderson. In a perfect world, the British native would quickly sign up to take on the likes of Dillian Whyte, Anthony Joshua, or even Tyson Fury. But as the secondary champion continues his attempts to battle better competition, Anderson is eager to do the same.

In what was little more than a build-up fight, Anderson dominated Miljan Rovcanin, his most recent opponent, stopping him in the second round. Although scoring dazzling knockouts has put the boastful heavyweight on the fighting map, he has yet to face a memorable name in his young career. In fact, Anderson hasn’t let any of his opponents make it to the final bell.

Given the skills he’s displayed so far, Anderson is convinced he could be doing himself a disservice in the long run. When he’s finally ready to compete for a world title, Anderson believes he’ll be forced to back whoever holds those prized titles in an inescapable corner.

“We’re looking for those 10 rounds so we can qualify and do mandatory. I know no one is going to want to fight me. I’m going to have to make people fight me.”
