Tottenham debut for Fraser Forster vs Arsenal

Tottenham face Arsenal in the North London Derby this weekend and may be without first-choice goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

The French goalkeeper is an injury doubt for this weekend, reports The Guardian, and that could mean Antonio Conte has to make his summer signing Fraser Forster debut.

The former Southampton goalkeeper joined Tottenham on a free transfer this summer but has had to settle for a place on the bench so far this season.

Conte would have wanted to have an important player like Lloris for such an important game, but Sun journalist Tom Barclay now says he hopes Forster will be called up to play in his place.

Speaking to Give Me Sport, Barclay said: “It would be a huge coup, he is the captain and their number one goalkeeper.

“Fraser Forster would come in and he won his move to Tottenham, he has a lot of experience in the Premier League, but you can’t take away the qualities that Lloris has as a leader and as a goalkeeper.”

This is sure to make this Saturday’s big game a stressful one for Spurs supporters, in what was already looking like a major challenge for Conte’s side.

Arsenal have had a surprisingly strong start to the season and are currently top of the Premier League table, so they will be favorites for this big game at the Emirates Stadium.
