New injury blow for Juventus as Miretti returns early to TurinJuvefc.com

As the old tradition goes, no international breakout would be complete without the return of at least one player who suffered a knock while serving his nation.

Apparently, the first casualty of Juventus’s current break is none other than Fabio Miretti.

According to Goal Italia, the 19-year-old suffered a blow to his right ankle during training with Italy U21s.

The Azzurrini released him this weekend and now he has returned to Turin where he will undergo tests to find out the extent of his injury.

The young Italians lost a friendly against their English counterparts on Thursday with two unanswered goals. They now prepare to challenge Japan U21s in another friendly on Monday, but they will do so in the absence of the Bianconeri star.

Juve FC says

Max Allegri will be holding his breath until the test results come out. The fact that a new injury hits an already exhausted midfielder is a huge blow for the strategist.

Miretti has been a regular starter recently, especially amid the absences of Adrien Rabiot and Manuel Locatelli, while Paul Pogba remains absent for a long time.

For this reason, the coach will be looking forward to Locatelli and Rabiot returning as soon as possible. Hopefully the pair will be fit enough to start against Bologna next weekend.
