Manchester United have been identified as a potential destination for Ajax prodigy Kenneth Taylor by former Ajax boss Aad de Mos.
The midfielder has been called up by the Oranje squad for this international break after an impressive run of performances in the Eredivisie.
And he has been suggested by De Mos not only to make the World Cup squad, but to become one of its brightest stars this winter.
“It will be the revelation of the Oranje in the World Cup. He is already one of the best players on the Ajax pitch.
“He will stay one more year after this, then it will be Barcelona, Real Madrid or Manchester United.
“If there are two buses parked in front of him, he knows how to make the right decisions towards forwards or players in his area. And he is two feet.
“If the team is compact, there is no need to be afraid. He has an iron will to defend and has a good head. A very talented player.”
A master of possession with two feet and defensive chops certainly sounds like someone United should keep an eye on and given Erik ten Hag’s background, it’s hard to imagine Taylor not coming under serious scrutiny from the Old Trafford hierarchy. .
The failed search for Frenkie de Jong certainly suggests that the Red Devils are still on the market for another midfielder, although United are unlikely to seek to add Taylor in the foreseeable future.
He has just broken into the Ajax first team, although his acceleration through the National Team only shows how highly regarded he is.
United have just signed Antony and Lisandro Martinez from Ajax and would probably have to wait a bit before taking advantage of the Amsterdam market again.
For now, Taylor has a lot to look forward to at Ajax and with the Dutch national team.
