By Craig Daly: Gilberto Ramirez says Gennadiy Golovkin looked “scared” last weekend in his loss to Canelo Alvarez in Las Vegas.
Ramirez feels that Golovkin (42-2-1, 37 KOs) did not try to win the fight against Canelo and was there to survive. He thinks Golovkin should either retire or come back at 160 to fight Jermall Charlo or Jaime Munguia.
Golovkin mentioned that he wants to defend his IBF/WBA 160-pound titles, which means he will likely face either Michael Zerafa or Esquiva Falcao next. Those won’t be the same high-paying fights Golovkin has grown accustomed to over the past four years on his DAZN contract.
“I think it was good for Canelo. He tried to put pressure on him all the time and tried to be toe-to-toe like in the previous two fights,” Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez told Fight Hub TV when asked about his opinion on the trilogy between Canelo Alvarez and Gennadiy Golovkin. . Saturday night.
