Arthur Melo enjoyed another spell of minutes with the U21 team in his quest to improve fitness ahead of the resumption of domestic football on 1 October.
The Liverpool loan showed off his impressive passing range during his last outing for Barry Lewtas’s men, creating a number of chances in the young Reds’ encounter with Rochdale.
It will be a very different prospect for the Brazilian to take on Brighton next month, of course, though it can only help the 26-year-old get some minutes in the tank and compete for a place in the starting eleven against Brighton and Hove Albion.
With Liverpool sometimes struggling to open up defenses this season, due in no small part to the limitations of a midfield previously suffering from a number of injuries, Arthur could prove to be an incredibly valuable asset in the coming weeks.
