Former undisputed UFC and Bellator lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez has parted ways with the Chatri Sityodtong-led ONE Championship banner, ending his four-fight tenure with the Singapore-based organization.

Alvarez, 38, last competed professionally on ONE on TNT 4 in April at Kallang, suffering a unanimous decision loss against Ok Rae Yoon.

The Philadelphia veteran joined the Sityodtong-led organization in October 2018, ending his tenure in the UFC, where he held the undisputed lightweight championship.

Embarking on a four-fight run with ONE Championship, where he amassed a 1-2 (1) run with the organization, Alvarez suffered a loss to Timofey Nasyukin in his arc, before defeating Eduard Folayang via rear-naked choke in the first assault. Álvarez then suffered an opening disqualification loss to Iuri Lapicus after landing punches to the back of his opponent’s head, before the result was overturned to an official ‘No Contest’.

Posting on his official Twitter, Álvarez confirmed his departure from ONE Championship and described their split as “amicable”.

“Confirmed, I am no longer with ONE (Championship),” Eddie Alvarez tweeted. “We parted ways amicably and I remain on good terms with the ONE team. I want to thank Chatri (Sityodtong) for the opportunity and hope to see her continued success. I’m officially a free agent and ready to hunt (clenched fist emoji) (knife emoji). Tell me whose is the next? UGK (Underground King).”

Capturing the undisputed UFC lightweight championship in July 2016, Alvarez scored a massive first-round knockout victory over Brazilian veteran Rafael dos Anjos. The veteran then suffered a second-round knockout loss to Conor McGregor in November of that year.

Throughout his gold-rich professional career, Alvarez has defeated the likes of Tatsuya Kawajiri, Toby Imada, Josh Neer, Roger Huerta, Pat Curran, Shinya Aoki, Patricky Pitbull, Michael Chandler, Gilbert Melendez, Anthony Pettis and Justin Gaethje.
