Brithish Rankin and Harper in a duel for the WBA belt  – World Boxing Association

World Boxing Association (WBA) super welterweight champion Hannah Rankin will face Terri Harper in defense of her world title this Saturday at the Nottingham Arena in Nottingham, UK.

Both British will star in the co-main event of the night in a good weekend evening that will feature several interesting fights.

Rankin, 32, from Luss, Scotland, will make the second defense of her belt, which she won in November last year by defeating veteran Maria Lindbergh at Tottenham. She beat Alejandra Ayala last May to make her first defense and now she will put her title back on the line.

Harper is taking on quite a challenge as he moves up in weight and battles the champion. The 25-year-old Debany Main, England native is a quality fighter who will be looking to strip Rankin of the crown from him. Harper only has one career loss of her own to Alycia Baumgardner and will look to continue her rise to the top.

Both have participated in various promotional activities this week and will step on the scales on Friday. Rankin has 12 wins, 5 losses, and 3 knockouts, while Harper has 12 wins, 1 loss, 1 draw, and 6 knockouts.
