Report claims West Ham ace could be sold against Moyes’s wishes

West Ham defender Craig Dawson could reportedly be sold in the January transfer window, although manager David Moyes would prefer to keep him.

The 32-year-old’s future has seemed to be in doubt for some time, with several reports linking him to a move away from London Stadium over the summer.

For now, Dawson remains a West Ham player, but Dean Jones appears to hope the club will try again to offload him against Moyes’s wishes when the transfer window reopens in January.

“It’s complicated, but they could, yes. I think West Ham would like him to stay, ideally, but they are going to be quite respectful of what Dawson wants at this stage,” he told Give Me Sport.

Dawson has been a popular figure among Hammers fans, so it remains to be seen how they would react if this sale were sanctioned.

It also seems far from ideal to force Moyes to let go of a player he’d like to keep.
