Magdaleno Vows To Down Robeisy Ramirez: I’m Coming To Shock The World!

On October 29 at the Hulu Theater in New York’s Madison Square Garden, there will be an interesting featherweight bout that will see Cuban two-time Olympic gold medalist Robeisy “El Tren” Ramirez collide with former world champion Jessie Magdaleno.

The fight will serve as the co-feature to Vasiliy Lomachenko’s highly anticipated return to the ring against Jamaine Ortiz.

Ramirez (10-1, 6 KOs) lost his pro debut, but has been on fire in the ring ever since. In June, he earned his biggest win to date with a fifth-round stoppage of undefeated Abraham Nova.

“It’s great to be back at the iconic Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden. I’m particularly excited to be doing it as the co-main event for the night that marks the return of the great Vasiliy Lomachenko, who I admire and consider one of Hulu’s great talents.” all the time,” Ramirez said.

“It’s rare to have two two-time Olympic gold medalists on the same card, and it’s an honor for me. As far as Magdaleno is concerned, he represents an important challenge, since he is an excellent boxer, a southpaw and a former world champion.”

Magdaleno (29-1, 18 KOs) captured his world title in the junior featherweight division when he defeated Nonito Donaire in November 2016. He lost his belt in April 2018, when Isaac Dogboe went down and stopped him.

He has put together a four-fight win streak and hopes a win over Ramirez will lead to another world title shot.

“I come to surprise the world of boxing. I know what a victory would mean for my career. My goal is to become a two-time world champion and Robeisy Ramirez is on my way. I just know I’m ready,” Magdaleno said.
