Bayern Munich News: According to Dietmar Hamann, Sadio Mane is unhappy at Bayern Munich after his departure from Liverpool.
After having six hits, Mane left the English side for a new challenge. Bayern Munich signed him for a fee of £27.1 million while he was in the final year of his contract. Klopp sanctioned the deal.
Bayern signed him to replace superstar Lewandowski. Mane has already scored three goals in his first three Bundesliga games. But since then, his goalscoring drought has continued in the Champions League.
Bayern boss Julian Nagelsmann also admitted that the striker is facing difficulties in adapting his new team’s style. Mané was removed by his coach in the 70th minute against Barcelona.
In the post-match interview, Nagelsmann explained: “He put in a lot for Liverpool.” He also added: “He is a new signing. He just needs to adapt. He was trying. I am sure that he will be successful for us.”
Hamann’s Thoughts
On the other hand, Hamann sees things differently. The former Liverpool and Bayern midfielder thinks Mane doesn’t look happy at The Allianz Arena. He told GMX via Sport Witness: “He’s not integrated.”
Hamann also explained the difference between the Liverpool version of Mane and the Bayern version: “I saw him at Liverpool FC, where he played in the middle. That is not his position. He now also occupies that position at FC Bayern. He is at his best when he comes in from outside. He doesn’t look happy to me.
Hamann praised the performance of the Bayern players: “Other players like Leroy Sane, Jamal Musiala or, in defense, Lucas Hernández, who is injured at the moment, are putting in outstanding performances.”
She also pointed out how lonely Mane has become: “No one is talking about Mane right now. He seems isolated and hardly participates in the game. FC Bayern have to control that.”
Bayern Munich News: Klopp on the post-Mane situation
But Mane is not alone in his lack of form, as his former team Liverpool are also struggling with the Senegalese striker. Jurgen Klopp replaced his star striker with the club’s record contract by signing Darwin Nunez from Benfica.
Nunez made a dream debut but is now also struggling in front of goal, after scoring just once in five games.
But Klopp insisted that Mane is not a major factor in his team’s early-season inconsistency. Klopp told Norwegian broadcaster TV2: “Sadio is a world-class player. It was always clear that he was going to be missed.”
He assured Liverpool fans saying: “But this is not our problem now. Unfortunately, we also played bad games with Sadio. Not ‘so’ bad, but bad. I especially understand that the Liverpool fans want to discuss it, want solutions and things like that.”
Most of Liverpool’s preferred midfielders are injured and Klopp is looking forward to their return.
