PSG News: Sergio Ramos is one of the most talented defenders of his generation. The Spain international joined Paris St. Germain from Real Madrid in the summer 2021 transfer window. He struggled with injuries during his debut season at the club, managing to make just 12 league appearances.
However, he has looked good since the start of the current season, appearing in the Parisians’ first seven league games. Ramos will be a key player for PSG this term as they look to retain their French crown, as well as win the UEFA Champions League.
However, the 36-year-old defender is in the last year of his contract at the Parc des Princes. He could leave the Parisian team for free at the end of this season.

Paris St. Germain sporting director Luis Campos provides an update on the future of Sergio Ramos. Speaking to the media, he said: “I’m happy with Sergio Ramos, so if he continues to perform like this… why not? Having a very good season, and the same for Leo Messi, it would be good to extend both contracts.”
Lionel Messi is another key player whose contract with PSG will expire at the end of the current season. The Parisian team is willing to extend his stay, but Messi will only decide his future after the FIFA World Cup later this year.
Luis Enrique left Sergio Ramos out of the Spain squad
Spain coach Luis Enrique snubbed Sergio Ramos from his squad for the UEFA Nations League matches against Switzerland and Portugal.
Questioned about the exclusion of Ramos, Enrique said (via Marca): “I can tell you what you want, but I think the best ones to play as central defenders are the central defenders who are here.”
Ramos has played a key role in Spain’s success in recent years. He has represented his nation 180 times since he made his debut in 2005. Ramos helped Red Fury win the FIFA World Cup in 2010, along with two UEFA European Championships.
The 36-year-old defender has not played for the Spanish national team for 18 months. He could consider retiring from international football if he fails to make the Iberian nation’s squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
