Barcelona Transfer News: Sergino Dest was one of the Barcelona players who was sold on the last day of the transfer window. The club was desperately trying to cut costs by shedding players.
Although money was one of the main reasons Barca sent Dest to AC Milan, the player didn’t do much to impress Xavi either and had a rather uneven time at Spotify Camp Nou.
Even so, he went on loan to AC Milan for a season, which made it possible for Barcelona to sign Héctor Bellerin on the last day.
But Dest has just given his first press conference in Milan, almost two weeks after his transfer was made official.

Dest, who has yet to play a single Serie A game, spoke about important parts of his contract with Milan and said he wants to play for the Rossoneri for a long time.
“There is a purchase option in the contract between AC Milan and Barcelona, so I will do my best here and I hope that Milan will sign me permanently. I am very happy here and I will do my best to stay,” he said.
The fact that Dest said this shows that the American player was never really happy at Barcelona.
Coach Xavi was not impressed by the 21-year-old. So it was never a big part of his plans for the first team.
Dest wants to stay at AC Milan for a long time
It led Barcelona to send him on loan to another team and replace him with the more experienced Héctor Bellerín.
As for Dest’s time at Milan, the right-back has made two appearances in the UEFA Champions League. But he hasn’t played in Serie A yet. For the last two games he has been on the bench.
Dest will try to play his first match in the Italian top flight on Sunday when Milan play Napoli at the San Siro.
