Harvey Elliott receives England call-up but doesn’t make the senior team

There were some rumors that Harvey Elliott was in line for a senior England cap; That was not to be, but the midfielder will continue to represent his nation on international duty.

The 19-year-old will play for the Under-21s, but that could still mean there is some hope that he will feature in Gareth Southgate’s plans for this next set of internationals, as well as a possible World Cup place in Qatar.

The games played by the Young Lions have been deliberately selected to mirror those of the senior team and with there already being rumors of the boyhood Red joining the first team squad, being this close will certainly increase their chances.

Good performances with Lee Carsley’s team could lead to promotion, should there be any injuries in the men’s team, so our number 19 will make sure he is performing at the highest level, just in case.

Truth be told, a World Cup place is highly unlikely, but the former Fulham academy star knows that anything can happen, if he impresses on the pitch.

Let’s cross our fingers that he can seize this opportunity with both hands and that our man can play on the best stage of all, this winter.
