Erik ten Hag pleased with team performance in comfortable victory against Sheriff Tiraspol – Man United News And Transfer News

Erik ten Hag was pleased with his team’s performance in the 2-0 win against Sheriff Tiraspol in the Europa League.

Jadon Sancho showed his class, scoring a wonderful goal. Cristiano Ronaldo finally opened his account for the new season by scoring the penalty.

Although there were aspects to improve, especially in the second half, Ten Hg was satisfied with the result.

In his post-match interview, he stated:

“Tough start. The rival played very direct, went for the second ball, and won too many in the first few minutes. But after a certain period, we played better.”

“So you say we can play between the lines; we put depth into our game and scored a great goal. Then we take control of the game.”

“After the first 10 minutes we found our formation, we were more confident, we had some good movements with the ball in the middle of the pitch, we kept the ball and at the right moments we broke away, we made a great goal with Jadon Sancho.

Ten Hag went on to praise Jadon Sancho.

“I am very satisfied [for Jadon Sancho].”

“Another goal… he’s doing well, but I think there’s a lot more room for improvement for him, because he has so many skills.”

The Dutchman was happy that the team is ready for Ronaldo to score. The Portuguese could be a vital player for United this season.

“Ronaldo needed that goal. He many times he was close, but he wanted it so much. We are happy for him and the team wanted to bring him a goal”.

“You know Cristiano will score a penalty.”
