Tubi to stream all World Cup games on-demand via new channel

Tubi will stream all World Cup games from FS1

Streaming platform Tubi has announced the launch of a new FIFA World Cup channel via the free ad-supported streaming service. The FIFA World Cup Channel will feature classic matches, recaps and analysis of the upcoming tournament. Additionally, Tubi will make all 64 games available on demand after the games end.

Like Pluto TV, Tubi features live and on-demand programming. In the example of the FIFA World Cup Channel, the Tubi service includes movies and series such as FIFA World Cup 2022: Qatar prepares, FIFA World Cup Classics, FIFA Women’s World Cup Classics and Gold Stars: The Story.

Details on Tubi broadcasting all World Cup games

Included in this new channel, all World Cup 2022 games are available for free on demand after the matches end.

FOX Sports currently holds the exclusive rights in English to broadcast the World Cup in the United States. Local FOX stations will broadcast a total of 35 games of the tournament. The company’s main sports channel, FS1, will broadcast the remaining 29 matches. However, all 64 games will be available on demand on Tubi, once the matches are over.

The Tubi app can be downloaded via Android and iOS devices, Roku, Chromecast, Playstation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series XIS, Amazon Fire TV, Amazon Echo Show, Google Nest, Comcast Xfinity X1, and Cox Contour. Smart TVs from Vizio, LG, Sony and Samsung can also access Tubi.

Launched in 2014, Tubi is a free over-the-top content platform. Although initially independent, the company was purchased by FOX Corporation in 2020 for $440 million. The streaming service currently has over 45,000 movies and TV series from a host of associations.

Telemundo Deportes plans to launch its own channel

While little information is available at the time of publication, Peacock TV plans to launch its own 24/7 World Cup channel in Spanish. While Tubi shows every World Cup game on demand, Peacock streams every World Cup game live in Spanish.
