No Marcus Rashford in Erik ten Hag’s travelling squad – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United’s first game in the Europa League did not go as planned as they succumbed to a 0-1 loss at the hands of Real Sociedad at Old Trafford.

Following the Premier League’s decision to postpone matches following the queen’s death, Erik ten Hag has the chance to pick a strong team for his clash against Moldovan Sheriff Tiraspol.

The Dutchman had made a number of changes for his opener and that might not be the case as he looks to pick up an away win.

United’s travel squad has been confirmed by the club’s media department and includes some notable omissions.

Marcus Rashford, Donny van de Beek and Aaron Wan-Bissaka will not be making the trip. Rashford was substituted during Arsenal’s victory and was not part of Sociedad’s matchday squad.

Van De Beek was seen yesterday in Amsterdam, which could indicate that he is not yet in top form.

The case of Wan-Bissaka seems curious since the Englishman was named as a substitute in the first match of the Europa League, but he was seen in the director’s box.

Anthony Martial has been absent for quite a few games with an Achilles tendon injury and won’t be making the trip either.

2 youngsters might have a chance

Surprisingly, substitute goalkeeper Martin Dubravka will also not travel to Moldova as David de Gea and Tom Heaton have been joined by youngster Radek Vitek.

Academy graduates Zidane Iqbal and Charlie McNeill are set to be part of the traveling party. McNeill had made his debut in United’s previous European home game.

Ten Hag’s press conference later in the day will provide more clarity on the situation.

The former Ajax boss is hoping to get his first win of the competition, but it won’t be easy as Sheriff opened with a three-goal victory over Omonia in their previous game.

They had also beaten Real Madrid in the Champions League last season.

The match will not take place at Sheriff’s house following a decision by UEFA. The Moldovan capital of Chisinau will host the match at the famous Zimbru Stadium.
