PSG news: Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed that defender Presnel Kimpembe will be out of action for around six weeks after picking up an injury in their win over Brest.
PSG met Brest in Ligue 1 in their previous game and secured a 1-0 victory. They finished the match with 10 men after Kimpembe was injured in the 90+2 minute having exhausted all substitutions from him.
PSG have released a statement confirming that Kimpembe has suffered an injury to his left hamstring. Kimpembe will undergo another examination eight days later to assess her progress.
“After a left hamstring injury, Presnel Kimpembe will be out for about six weeks. New tests will be carried out in eight days to assess their progress,” the PSG statement read.
PSG news: Keylor Navas and Renato Sanches fitness update
Goalkeeper Keylor Navas will not travel with the team to Israel for their Champions League match against Maccabi Haifa. The Costa Rican has back pain, PSG revealed.
They also provided an update on Renato Sanches’ injury. The Portuguese international is still undergoing treatment for the injury he suffered to his right adductor.
Meanwhile, PSG take on Maccabi Haifa in their next match in the Champions League. They started their CL 22/23 campaign by defeating Juventus 2-1. Kylian Mbappe scored both goals and PSG beat the Italian team.
PSG hope to pick up another three points when they take on Maccabi Haifa. The Israeli team comes into the game having lost 2-0 to Benfica in their first Champions League game.
Meanwhile, PSG have had a great start to the 22/23 season and are undefeated so far this term. They began their season by defeating Nantes 4–0 in the Trophée des Champions final.
PSG then began their defense of the Ligue 1 title on a stellar note, posting a 5-0 victory over Clermont Foot in their opening game.
PSG have so far played seven games in the French top flight this season and have 19 points, losing only points. The only game in which they failed to collect all three points was against AS Monaco, who held them to a 1-1 draw.
PSG have scored 21 goals in just seven Ligue 1 games this season and have only conceded four goals. Their goalscoring record is the best in the league, while their defense record is the best along with Marseille, who are second in the table.
