David Alaba blown away by game-deciding midfielder Liverpool reportedly want to sign

Liverpool are said to have Jude Bellingham set firmly in their sights for the 2023 summer window after a failed attempt to lure the Englishman out of the German top flight this year.

However, it appears the club could have a fight on their hands to secure the midfielder’s signing with Real Madrid for sure he will compete with Jurgen Klopp’s men.

Indeed, it seems that the Los Blancos camp is more than familiar with the teenager’s talent, as former Bundesliga star David Alaba raves about the Borussia Dortmund man in a German outlet.

“As for Bellingham as a player, I can say he is one of the biggest midfield talents in the world,” the Real Madrid man told Welt (via the Daily Star).

“And that at a young age!

“At only 19 years old, he leads the team, he doesn’t hide and he already decides the games with his style of play”.

A significant fee is expected to be required to lure Bellingham away from Germany, potentially in the region of £100m, and bolster a Liverpool midfield in desperate need of fresh legs.

Although at a similar age to Fabio Carvalho and Harvey Elliott, the former Birmingham City youth prospect would arrive with far more significant experience in the top flight and European football.

With Jordan Henderson and Thiago Alcantara both in their 30s and the likes of James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita on expiring contracts, we need a real quality injection in 2023.

Beyond that, we need more than just a midfielder and we may have already identified an additional option in that regard in the form of Konrad Laimer, for whom a move was attempted at the end of the last window.
