Andy Ruiz Jr Already Calling Out Deontay Wilder For WBC Eliminator

By Brian Webber: Andy Ruiz Jr. is rushing to call out Deontay Wilder in a WBC heavyweight title eliminator even though he needed to beat the dangerous Robert Helenius on Oct. 15.

Former unified champion Ruiz posted a photo of him and Wilder inside the ring today on social media, making it clear to his boxing fans that this is the guy he wants next.

Provided Wilder (42-2-1, 41 KOs) beats Helenius (31-3, 20 KOs) next month in his main event on FOX Sports pay-per-view at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, it’s It’s possible that ‘The Bronze Bomber’ could face Ruiz (35-2, 22 KOs) next.

Wilder hasn’t said conclusively that he will fight Ruiz, as he has a long shot at a much bigger payout against Anthony Joshua in 2023.

There is nothing wrong with fighting Ruiz, but if Wilder is offered a fight for a lot more money against Joshu, you have to believe he will take it.

Ruiz, 32, is a one-punch wonder who has worked his way back to a world title shot after fighting two former heavyweights in Chris Arreola, 40, and Luis Ortiz. , 43, from his one. side loss to Joshua in 2019.

You have to believe that Ruiz’s management has been intentionally picking older fighters for him to fight, what are the odds of him fighting two 40-year-old fighters?

The way Ruiz looked in beating ‘King Kong’ Ortiz earlier this month on Sept. 4, he should stay away from fighting Wilder and stick to the 40-year-old because he looks poor.

Even though Ruiz knocked Ortiz down three times, he barely won the fight because the talented Cuban was outboxing him. The difference in boxing skills between Ortiz and Ruiz was great enough to drive a truck through.

The only thing Ruiz had going for him was hand speed, which he used to score all three takedowns. In between those takedowns, however, Ruiz was being outmatched by Ortiz, and it seemed that he was afraid to throw punches for fear of being countered.

Ruiz’s lack of stamina was also a big part of his poor showing because he seemed afraid to let go of his hands for fear of running out of gas.

If Ruiz loses this fight to Wilder, this could be the end of the road for him. With Ruiz only fighting once every 16 months, he’s never coming back.
