Gilberto Ramirez Vows High Workrate, Will Take The Fight To Dmitry Bivol

Former super middleweight world champion Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez is hard at work in camp, for the upcoming mandatory clash with WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol.

The contest is scheduled for November 5 in Abu Dhabi.

Bivol comes from one of the greatest wonders of the year.

In May, he outpointed Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez in twelve rounds to retain the WBA belt.

Ramírez intends to introduce himself early on with a heavy-duty pace. Some felt that Canelo did not throw enough punches in the fight with Bivol.

“My plan is to finish the fight with my hand up and win that belt. I’m going to try all night, throw a lot of punches and end up wearing that belt,” Ramirez told Fight Hub TV. .

Ramirez, with a record of 44-0 and 30 KOs, has knocked out all five of his opponents since making the jump up to light heavyweight.

The two fighters recently met in Abu Dhabi to promote the fight at the opening press conference.

“It was great to be there and to be able to see that belt. We both behave like gentlemen and we know that it will be a great fight. We will give a great show for all the fans, I am convinced that I am bigger and stronger than him”, commented Ramírez.

If Ramirez wins, he plans to target Artur Beterbiev, who holds the WBC, IBF and WBO light heavyweight titles. Beterbiev will first have to get past his own mandatory challenger, Anthony Yarde, in early 2023.

“In the end, the best have to fight the best and the people deserve it. My plan is to conquer this division,” Ramirez said.
