Ex-campeón WBC Yabuki vence a Thanomsak en Japón

Former WBC 108-pound champion Masamichi Yabuki (14-4, 13 KOs), 110.25, scored an important victory on Saturday in his hometown of Yokkaichi, Japan, as he withstood constant pressure from the undefeated WBO#4/WBA #9 Thanomsak Simsri. (23-1, 21 KOs), 110, and dropped the Thai three times en route to a nice stoppage at 1:19 of the seventh round in a scheduled ten. Having been dethroned by former champion Kenshiro Yabuki via a knockout punch in a rematch in March, Yabuki connected with a well-timed right counterattack, dropping the 22-year-old Thai in the dying seconds of the second. The plucky Thanomsak kept up his aggressiveness, stalking the former champion the entire time, but it was Yabuki who dropped him again with a sixth-round combination. The seventh saw the 30-year-old Yabuki explode and dominate the match.
