RB Leipzig vs Real Madrid
One of the interesting games in Wednesday night football this weekend will be defending UCL champions Real Madrid taking on Rb Leipzig. Madrid began their UCL campaign with a win against Scottish champions Celtic on matchday one.
Real Madrid came to this match with form and confidence behind them. Madrid have so far been in top form winning all their games in all competitions. But last week, Real Madrid lost one of their key men, Karim Benzema. He is out with an ankle injury for 3 weeks. But still, Madrid would like to make a strong statement that they are capable of winning without being led by the French.
Moving on to Rb Leipzig, they have been struggling in the Bundesliga so far. They are currently 10th in the Bundesliga and are looking a bit washed out this season. But one bright spot for Rb Leipzig will be that they will come into this UCL game after a fantastic win over Dortmund, who looked like a formidable team in the Bundesliga.
Overall the clash of these two teams will be a treat for everyone and both clubs will want to win their next UCL Clash.
Manchester City vs. Dortmund
Another interesting game this Wednesday night in the UCL will be Manchester City against Borussia Dortmund. Both teams are coming back from brilliant victories in their Matchday 1 clashes in the UCL. Manchester City taking on Dortmund will be exciting for another reason, which is that Erling Haaland will return to his old club in the blue Manchester shirt.
They have been in excellent form since the beginning of their season. Manchester City are scoring goals for fun and Erling Haaland is enjoying his time in the top flight. But the last week of games, Manchester City remained in trouble against Aston Villa for a 1-1 draw. Dortmund can learn lessons from that draw and can hope to hand Manchester City their first loss of the campaign in the same way or even better.
Dortmund, on the other hand, have been decent in the Bundesliga so far. They were second in the table and seemed like a good team, but unfortunately they suffered a huge loss at the hands of Rb Leipzig this weekend. They come into this all-important clash with low morale, but they need to choose themselves if they want to go toe-to-toe with the mighty Manchester City.
Dortmund and Manchester City like the attacking game. We are sure to witness a very entertaining clash and it would be interesting to see who emerges victorious.
Chelsea vs Salzburg
Seeing this game on the list to watch out for, some might get confused, but we have our own reasons why we think this game is one to watch out for. The last time Chelsea took part in this competition, they had Thomas Tuchel as their head coach, but this time he will not be there.
After losing in week 1 play to Croatian champions Chelsea, the new owner sent then-manager Thomas Tuchel packing. He was sacked the next morning and Gram Potter from Brighton was announced as his successor. This weekend’s Premier League was supposed to be Potter’s first game in charge. Due to the death of U Majesty Queen in the UK, all major league games have been postponed. Therefore, this game at UCL will be Gram Potter’s first game in charge as Chelsea’s new boss.
Facing their opponent, Salzburg, they lead their domestic league competition. Also in UCL, they managed to take a point from Italian champions AC Milan in week 1 of the game. Therefore, Salzburg hope to do the same against a struggling Chelsea. Meanwhile, Chelsea will be looking to get to work with a win under the leadership of new manager Gram Potter.
