Elfrink shares Liverpool-linked Sangare’s bargain asking price in summer

Liverpool may be inclined to wait a year for Ibrahim Sangare after learning of the Ivorian’s asking price in the upcoming summer window, amid new links emerging with the former Toulouse man.

The midfielder, who the Reds were said to be at least vaguely interested in during the window that just ended, will be available for just €37m. [£32.3m] in the summer market, notably just £400,000 more than his release clause before agreeing to a long-term contract extension.

Empire of the Kop is reliably reported by Eindhovens Dagblad journalist and PSV member Rik Elfrink, who warns that an interested party will need to pay a larger sum for the 24-year-old’s services in January.

We’ll be closely monitoring this story as it unfolds, though for now we’d advise fans to take reports of a potential Sangare move with a pinch of salt.
