Luis Ortiz Eager To Step in To Fight Tyson Fury or Anthony Joshua in December

Two judges saw the fight 6 rounds each, while the third scored 7 rounds for Ortiz and 5 for Ruiz. The 3 knockdowns scored by Ruiz proved to be the difference in the exciting heavyweight showdown that was distributed on FOX pay-per-view.

After the fight, many observers, including some professional fighters, called for the 43-year-old Ortiz to retire. Many commented that the former title challenger’s punch resistance is shot.

The Florida-based Cuban objected to the comments of some of his colleagues.

“I have some wise words for some of these boxers who gave their opinion and said that I was old because I hit the canvas twice due to punches from Ruiz.” Ortiz told BoxingScene.com.

“First of all, this is the heavyweight division and I would like to see most of you lightweights fight just one weight class up. I bet most of you couldn’t last 5 rounds, so think before you speak. You should think about the fact that I did all 12 rounds and still wanted more. I didn’t even sit on my stool that last round

“Give me my respect, all heavyweights have been or will be eliminated at some point, so to say I’m old because I went down and got up, what does that say about Furry hitting the mat or Joshua or Whyte or Wilder? Are they old? I mean I stood up front, toe to toe with a guy who was 25 pounds heavier than me and I mostly took the fight with him and with all due respect to Ruiz, I would love a rematch with him.”

Fury and Joshua have been linked to a possible showdown in December, but the fight seems unlikely at this point and both men will likely face other opponents before the end of the year.

Ortiz would like to let it be known that he is ready, willing and able to start camp and face any of them next.

Hi Furry and Joshua, I heard you’re both looking for opponents. Well, I’m willing to fight any of you. Let’s see what you guys can do against me,” Ortiz said.
