Manchester United News: Manchester United striker Anthony Martial has criticized former Red Devils managers José Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjær over different issues.
After starting his football at CO Les Ulis academy, Anthony Martial joined Lyon’s youth setup.
He then graduated from the Lyon Academy and played for the reserve team before making his professional debut. Martial was soon signed by Monaco. The French striker spent two seasons at Monaco and was then signed by Manchester United of the English Premier League.
In his first season with the Red Devils, Martial performed very well. The forward scored 17 goals in all competitions and was United’s top goalscorer of the season. Things were going well and Martial won the FA Cup in his debut season in England. However, everything changed with the arrival of Portuguese coach José Mourinho.

Anthony Martial blames former United managers Solskjær and Mourinho for his downfall at United.
After the arrival of Mourinho, Martial’s career at United was dented. He lost his place in the starting eleven and could never be as consistent as in his first season at Old Trafford.
In an exclusive interview with France Football, he said: “I scored 17 goals in my first season and gave 13 assists and in the first part of the season (2017-18) I was the top scorer. Then Mourinho bought (Alexis) Sánchez and he hardly played anymore. It cost me my place in the World Cup. I should have been there.”
Apart from that, he also got tangled up with the United manager with a lot of problems off the pitch.
Upon the arrival of Belgian striker Romelo Lukaku, Martial was stripped of the number 9 jersey and given the number 11 which he clearly did not like.
Then, former United legend Ole Gunnar Solskjær was brought in to replace Mourinho. However, things did not change for the French striker.
His performances never reached the level of his first season and the United striker has spoken about why.
According to Martial, the striker played the last two seasons with many injuries. Due to these injuries, he lost most of his game, the “acceleration”.
On top of that, his injuries only got worse and Solskjær never talked about this in the media.
While describing the incident and how it felt, Martial said, “You are asked to sacrifice for the team, and then you get fired. For me, it is almost a betrayal. That’s what I hate. I can be blamed, but not for being fake.”

Since the arrival of Erik ten hag, the United striker has regained his confidence and is now an important part of the United squad. However, he has only played 45 minutes this season due to an Achilles tendon injury.
Meanwhile, United had a difficult start to the season, losing their first two games. They came back in style and won the next four and are now in fifth place in the table. United will now face Sheriff Tiraspol in their next outing.
