Real Madrid news: Luka Modric has explained why Casemiro’s departure to Manchester United will not affect the Spanish team.
Casemiro left Real Madrid in the summer transfer market for Man Utd. The Brazilian midfielder has joined Man Utd on a four-year deal.
Casemiro left Real Madrid after 336 games with the club, in which he won several trophies. He won the Champions League five times during his time at the club, while he also tasted La Liga success three times with Real Madrid.
Casemiro also won the FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup three times with Real Madrid during that time. He also won the Copa del Rey once and the Spanish Super Cup three times with Los Blancos.

Despite the departure of Casemiro in the second half of August, Real Madrid has not made any new additions to the squad. However, the defending La Liga champions had signed Aurelian Tchouameni earlier in the transfer window.
Modric has now admitted that Real Madrid lost an important player in Casemiro. But the Croatian said that Real Madrid have many good players to replace the Brazilian international.
Modric insisted that Real Madrid are well equipped in midfield despite the sale of Casemiro to Manchester United.
“We have started very well this year and we have a strong team. In midfield, we lost an important player in Casemiro, but we have many other good players to replace him and do a good job,” Modric told Real Madrid’s official website.
He added: “[Aurelien] Tchouameni has adapted very well. That is [Eduardo] Camavinga’s sophomore year and he had a great first year. [Toni] Kroos has been here a long time. [Federico] Valverde is also doing very well in any position. [Dani] Ceballos is helping the team a lot. We are well equipped in this position.”
For its part, Real Madrid have had a stellar start to the 22/23 season. They started by defeating Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0 in the UEFA Super Cup final.
Real Madrid are also top of the La Liga table with 12 points from their first four games. He has won all four games he has played so far in the Spanish top flight this season.
Real Madrid also kicked off their 22/23 Champions League campaign in style, beating Celtic 3-0 in their opening match.
