Newcastle insider fears senior figure could be tempted to leave the club

Journalist John Gibson fears that Eddie Howe may be tempted to leave Newcastle for a job in England.

There has been speculation about Howe replacing Gareth Southgate after the World Cup and Gibson says England’s job is too big to be turned down by any manager in the world.

Gibson thinks there is no risk of Howe going to Brighton after Potter’s departure, but the job in England could be tempting if Southgate leaves.

He said, “No, no. Brighton is on par with Bournemouth.

“I don’t think there is any chance of me going to Brighton. I think the most worrying thing is whether he will go to England.” – Gibson said for the NUFC Matters podcast.

Howe already has a very attractive job at St. James’ Park. The Tyneside club have already started to sign big names like Alexander Isak and Bruno Guimaraes and have the full backing of very wealthy owners.
