Benzema vows to come back ‘strong’ from injury

Real Madrid news: Karim Benzema has vowed to come back ‘strong’ after suffering an injury during Los Blancos’ 3-0 win over Celtic in the Champions League.

Benzema was injured in the first half of their Celtic match and manager Carlo Ancelotti replaced the Frenchman with Eden Hazard after half an hour.

Real Madrid have since confirmed that Benzema has suffered a hamstring injury. In a statement, Real Madrid said that Benzema “has been diagnosed with an injury to the semitendinosus muscle and an overload in the quadriceps, both in the right thigh.”

Benzema will now be out of action for at least three weeks after the injury.

Benzema took to social media to post a message after learning the extent of his injury. “I’m not complaining, my response will be forceful,” wrote the Real Madrid striker.

For his part, Benzema has had a great start to the season. He has already scored four goals for the Spanish team in six appearances so far this season. Three of those goals came in La Liga and the other was scored in the European Super Cup.

Real Madrid have also had a stellar start to the season. They enjoy a 100% winning record so far this season. Real Madrid began their 22/23 campaign by beating Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0 in the UEFA Super Cup final. Benzema scored a goal and David Alaba too.

The Spanish giants then kicked off their La Liga title defense by taking on Almeria. Real Madrid secured a 2-1 win in that match.

Real Madrid then faced Celta de Vigo in their next match and achieved a 4-1 victory. Benzema was one of the scorers, converting a penalty.

Benzema shone for Real Madrid in his next game by defeating Espanyol 3-1. The Frenchman scored a goal in the 88th minute to break the tie. He also scored another in the 90 + 10 minute of the game.

Real Madrid hosted Real Betis in their next match in the Spanish top flight and recorded a 2-1 victory. Both teams had entered the game with nine points from their first three games. Real Madrid currently sit top of the La Liga table with 12 points from four games.

Real Madrid faced Celtic in their next game as their defense of the Champions League title began. After a goalless first half, Real Madrid scored three goals in the second half to take all three points home. Vinicius Jr, Luka Modric and Hazard scored the goals for Ancelotti’s men.
