Local community initiatives to benefit from Premier League postponement

Liverpool Football Club is set to donate food to local community initiatives after Saturday’s Premier League clash with Wolves was postponed.

The Molineux team will no longer travel to Merseyside after the Premier League announced this morning that their games will not take place following The Queen’s death.

Staff working at Anfield will already have been preparing for tomorrow’s postponed game and the club have confirmed that fresh food already prepared will not go to waste.

As reported by journalist David Lynch on his official Twitter account, he said: “Liverpool are donating any fresh food prepared ahead of tomorrow’s now-postponed meeting with Wolves to local community initiatives. Organizations such as Whitechapel Centre, Victory Outreach and Fans Supporting Foodbanks will benefit.”

Over 50,000 fans pack Anfield on a match day and have the opportunity to purchase food and hot drinks, as well as a wide variety of snacks.

Spectators lucky enough to be seated in the hospitality sections of the stadium enjoy a wide variety of high-quality food.

It’s great to see that despite the disappointment of the postponement of the game, a lot of people will benefit as a result.

No one should go hungry or without enough food to feed their family and play club fair for this act of kindness in what is an extremely difficult time for many across the country as the cost of living continues to rise.
