Claressa Shields vs. Savannah Marshall is OFF

The middleweight title fight between Claressa Shields and Savannah Marshall, originally scheduled for tomorrow (September 10), will now continue on October 15.

As expected, tomorrow’s all-female BOXXER event at London’s O2 Arena, headlined by the middleweight title fight between Claressa Shields and Savannah Marshall, has been cancelled.

The event had been in the balance following the death yesterday of Her Majesty The Queen and now the British Boxing Board Board of Control has made the decision to cancel the event entirely.

“The British Boxing Board of Control has decided that all tournaments this weekend will be postponed as a show of respect to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II,” a statement read. “We join a grieving nation and pay tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, honoring her dedication to our country during her long reign and her legacy that she leaves behind.”

The event will now take place on October 15, again at the O2 Arena in London.
