Rose won two Austrian leagues and an Austrian Cup with Salzburg.
He then joined the Bundesliga team Borussia Monchengladbach. Rose spent 2 seasons at Gladbach before signing for Borussia Dortmund. Rose managed Dortmund for one season and helped the club finish second in the German top tier.
RB Leipzig Transfer News: Marco Rose joins Leipzig
German club RB Leipzig have appointed Marco Rose as their next manager. The German coach has signed a two-year contract with the club.
In an official statement, Leipzig stated: “Marco Rose has been appointed as the new head coach of RB Leipzig and has signed a two-year contract valid until June 2024. The 45-year-old replaces Domenico Tedesco, who left the club on Wednesday, September 7.”
Term of Tedesco in Leipzig
After replacing American coach Jesse Marsch at Leipzig, Tedesko had a very successful first season.
Under the Italian coach, Leipzig won their first major title when they defeated SC Freiburg on penalties and won the DFB Pokal.
Tedesco’s Leipzig performed decently on the continental stage, reaching the Europa League semi-finals before being eliminated by Scottish club Rangers.
This time, Leipzig had a very poor start to the season. The German club won only one of their first five games in the league. They are currently in eleventh place in the table.
Pressure was already mounting on Tedesko’s team to deliver. However, things took a turn for the worse in the Champions League when the German club suffered a 1-4 loss against Shakhtar Donetsk in their opening match.
Ultimately, this poor start, coupled with Champions League humiliation, led to Tedesco’s dismissal.
