In the main event, we will see a welterweight thriller that will see undefeated #3 ranked contender Khamzat Chimaev (11-0) fighting from Stockholm, Sweden through Chechnya, Russia fighting perennial fan favorite Nate Diaz (21 -13). out of Stockton, California.
Irene Aldana sat across from reporters at Wednesday’s press conference, and you can watch the interview in the video above. She talks about her opponent and how she expects a tough fight from Macy Chiasson.
“Since I was in the top five in the rankings, I am aware that a title fight can happen at any time,” said Aldana. “But I’m here to accept challenges and I’m here to take over across the division. I don’t care if he’s No. 20 in the division or No. 1 in the division. So we’re here to work, and that’s it.”
“It’s going to be an exciting fight,” Aldana said. “She’s tough, she’s a really tough fighter. She is a complete fighter. I know she’s working on punching, wrestling, cage fighting, and that’s a tough prospect as well. I think it will be an interesting game.” She continues: “I think it’s my experience. I think I have to be a veteran, and also my aggressiveness. That is the advantage I have against her.”
