By Chris Williams: Deontay Wilder is still bitter from his two losses to Tyson Fury, feels like he cheated and says he wants a fourth fight with him.
Wilder has in the past expressed his belief that Fury had something on his glove during their second fight. It was never tested, so there’s nothing Deontay can say about it.
What we do know is that Wilder never seemed to recover after being hit with a right hand rabbit punch from Fury in the third round of their second fight in February 2020. If Wilder wants to complain about something, the rabbit hits what it is. the way to follow. .
Former WBC heavyweight champion Wilder claims he didn’t go to authorities because of his belief that Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs) cheated because he wanted the chance to punish him and make millions in the process.
If Wilder (42-2-1, 41 KOs) wins his next two fights against Robert Helenius and Andy Ruiz Jr, he will be locked in as Fury’s WBC mandatory challenger if he is still the champion at that point.
Fury’s future is a bit murky at the moment because he could lose to Anthony Joshua or Oleksandr Usyk, both of whom have the tools to beat him.
“Definitely,” Deontay Wilder told Fighthype when asked if he wanted a fourth fight against Tyson Fury. “No, never, because I know the truth behind it,” Deontay said of the potential of burying the born and being friends with Tyson.
Wilder has two formidable hoops that he must jump through for a chance at a third fight against Fury. At this point, he’s too early to tell if Deontay will beat Helenius and Ruiz.
The way Wilder looked in his last two fights against Fury, you’d have to say, no, he won’t get a chance to fight him again.
“I don’t condone cheating and things like that. I know it doesn’t matter what people say,” Wilder said. It’s like you have analysts who say, ‘If he [Fury] he had something on his glove, why didn’t he go to the authorities?
“I would say to them, ‘Why the hell would I go to the authorities when I have the opportunity to release my own energy and get my hands on him in the process of maybe trying to kill him and get paid millions of dollars to do it?'” Wilder said.
