Matthijs de Ligt has targeted another dig at Juventus as the Dutchman enjoys his start at Bayern Munich.
He was at Juve between 2019 and this summer when he demanded to move to Germany.
Juve quickly took advantage of him and replaced him with Gleison Bremer, who has not had the best start in Turin.
While Juve are struggling in Serie A and Europe, Bayern are having a brilliant campaign and De Ligt is enjoying his time there.
The defender has now directed a dig at Juve by claiming that the level of intensity in their training is lower than that applied at Bayern.
He claims that was the reason he struggled when he first moved to Bavaria.
The Dutchman said, quoted by Football Italia:
“I am playing in training against some of the best strikers in the world. At first it was a bit difficult, but day by day you learn and improve. This is very important to me.
“Both training regimens are tough, but in Italy it is more about tactics and systems, less intensity and above all less sprinting.
“I had a bit of trouble at the beginning because I wasn’t used to the intensity level of training at Bayern, but now I’m in good shape.”
Juve FC says
Different bosses run both clubs and compete in specific national competitions.
Juve have to adapt to a training routine that will help them compete in Serie A.
Bayern do the same in Germany, so De Ligt should not have expected both clubs to train in the same way.
