Chavon Davis looks to build on his successful pro debut. In May, the former amateur standout defeated Brent Oren in the first round of their scheduled 6-round bout on the previous David Benavidez-David Lemieux undercard that took place in the Phoenix suburb of Glendale, Arizona. His next assignment will take place on October 8 on the Sebastian Fundora-Carlos Ocampo undercard in Carson, California at Dignity Health Sports Park. Davis’ opponent is yet to be defined, but he is expected to step up in class against an opponent with a lot of experience and a good record.
“They’re moving me fast. I don’t want any soft touch. My last fight was scheduled as 6 rounds. This one will be 8 rounds and then I’ll go to 10 rounds in my next fight,” Davis said. BoxingScene.com.
The Ohio native has clashed with a number of big names in the Las Vegas area and, in the process, has gained invaluable experience.
Even at the young age of 22, Davis understands that knockouts sell and that being an entertaining fighter will help him land bigger prizes and also appear regularly on television.
“I’m an action fighter. I’m going to give the fans another knockout. It won’t make it past the first round. I’m going to have a knockout streak and give the fans what they want to see, which is a lot.” of knockouts,” said Davis, who fights under the Premier Boxing Champions banner.
If all goes according to plan, Davis, who may end up dropping down in weight from the super middleweight division, will be back in the ring again before the end of the year.
