Sivenathi Nontshinga signs with Matchroom after claiming title

These are turning out to be very good days for Sivenathi Nontshinga. After beating Hector Flores for the IBF light flyweight title last Friday in one of the best fights of the year, he has now signed a promotional contract with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing.

“I am very happy to sign with the number one Promoter in the world,” said Nontshinga.

“I am enjoying this moment of victory not only for myself but also for my country, as I am the only legitimate world champion. I would love to defend my world title in South Africa as a homecoming.”

Nontshinga (11-0, 9 KOs), 23, has more than earned this kind of big league endorsement, and it also comes with an added bonus: access to his fellow champions. He is now a stablemate of WBA champion Hiroto Kyoguchi, who recent reports claim will team up with WBC champion Kenshiro Teraji later this year before moving on to a showdown with WBO champion Jonathan “Bomb” Gonzalez. We could be looking at an undisputed champion at 108 within the next 12 months, and I am absolutely here for it.
