Fury Not Surprised Tony Bellew Said Joshua Deserves 50-50 Split

By Charles Brun: Tyson Fury dismissed Tony Bellew as little more than an Anthony Joshua “fan” when told he feels AJ deserves a 50-50 split because he’s more attractive than him.

Bellew made some good comments Tuesday, saying that Joshua is the biggest star, which is why WBC heavyweight champion Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs) is choosing to try to fight him even though AJ is back. Return the losses to Oleksandr Usyk.

With the way Fury is pushing hard for the Joshua fight and seems completely desperate for this matchup, it confirms in Bellew’s mind that he is the bigger star.

Bellew says he has the pay-per-view, proving that Joshua is the bigger name compared to Fury, who has arguably hurt his popularity with his frequent mention of retirement and weird talk about wanting to fight Thor, Francis. Ngannou, Manuel Charr, and Derek Chisora.

“No, because Bellew is an AJ fan, isn’t he?” Tyson Fury told talkSPORT when asked if he was surprised Tony Bellew said Anthony Joshua deserves a 50-50 split.

I have to disagree with Fury. Bellew feels that Joshua deserves better than a 60-40 split, given that he is the more popular fighter of the two.

Also, Bellew thinks Joshua shouldn’t fight unless it’s a better deal. Fury’s assist on Nov. 26 or Dec. 3 is another reason for Joshua not to take the fight.

“Why the best fighter in the world, which is me, calling AJ? The reason is because the little guy, Usyk, beat the bodybuilder and he doesn’t want to smoke with the Gypsy King.

“Who better now than to fight AJ? I have the largest number of attendees in the UK, with 94,000 at Wembley by myself.

“Those are the dates. [November 26th and December 3rd]And if they’re not good, then he doesn’t want this fight,” Fury said of Joshua. “I prefer November 26.

“Anything can happen when you have two giant heavyweights in the ring,” Fury said when asked for a prediction on his fight with Joshua.

“I have always said what happens when I fight Joshua. They clear it in six or seven rounds if it lasts that long.

“He was a little bit better, but he needed to do that time five of what he did,” Fury said of Joshua’s performance in his rematch with Usyk.
