Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has clashed with outgoing manager Thomas Tuchel over the possible transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United this summer.
The German strategist was not interested in signing Ronaldo, and was reportedly chafing at having to justify his motives to Boehly, who struggled to take no for an answer, according to the Telegraph.
The Portuguese international remains one of the best strikers in world football, even at the age of 37, but Tuchel is perhaps understandably uninterested in what would have been a short-term move.
Boehly, by contrast, may have been more attracted by the prospect of signing a superstar like Ronaldo, and it seems this was one of several issues that led to tensions between owner and manager.
