Ross Barkley was supposed to be England’s next big thing when he initially broke through at Everton, but a major injury ruined his 2017/18 season and prevented him from returning to his best after moving to Chelsea.

To be fair, the Chelsea team would never be built around him and he was rarely given a consistent string of games to make his mark, ultimately leading to his release this summer.
