One of the biggest talking points this weekend was West Ham’s disallowed draw against rivals Chelsea.
Trailing 2-1, fans watched Maxwel Cornet score a very late equalizer only to have it overturned and overturned by VAR.
The controversial decision, which sparked outrage from the likes of David Moyes and captain Declan Rice, meant the Hammers got nothing out of last weekend’s encounter.
Speaking about the controversial decision, former referee Dermot Gallagher, who spoke to Sky Sports, said: “I don’t think it was a foul on Saturday and I don’t think it is a foul now. I think it raises a number of questions. It got complicated I think because the VAR got involved. If you rewind it, I’ll show you something really interesting about the whole stage.

“When it develops, if you don’t look at the incident, look at the referee. He has the best position he can have on a football field. He has everything in front of him, he can see the incident, the crash, Mendy, Bowen, he sees the goalkeeper on the ground. However, when he went to VAR he saw the same footage and he saw the same angle, so I don’t know what changed.
“I think the VAR focused on the goalkeeper, he felt he was injured, he didn’t have the feeling that Andy Madeley had on the pitch and that became the focus. I think the VAR focused on the goalkeeper and the law does say that if the goalkeeper is seriously injured you have to stop the game in the penalty area.
