Juventus could have been 2-0 up before Fiorentina scored against them in Serie A yesterday.
It is not the first time that a similar phrase has been written about the Bianconeri, but they have failed to improve that part of their game.
After beating Spezia 2-0, Max Allegri hoped his men would pick up another victory against La Viola.
However, the game ended in a deadlock and Allegri lamented his lack of killer instinct in his post-match press.
The 55-year-old said, as quoted by Football Italia:
“In the second half, we dropped some players, but the thing to absolutely improve is that when you have the opportunity to go up 2-0, you have to take it. Those are the key moments that decide seasons and we don’t have that ugliness yet.
“You can also miss the shot, but I didn’t see pettiness. You have to get used to that again, not everything is easy. That’s it, so I don’t get mad at guys for nothing. From that moment came the corner and the draw, which changed everything”.
Juve FC says
This theme will cost us a lot of points and victories in other competitions.
Our lack of killer instinct is one of the reasons we’ve already had three draws this season.
If we continue like this, the 2022/2023 season will end just as badly as the previous one.
Hopefully our players will become more ruthless in front of goal and seize the opportunities that come their way.
