2 international call-ups as Keita decision made – Latest Liverpool FC News – Liverpool FC

On another quiet day in a 17-day interval between Liverpool matches, the club received news of two international caps and the cancellation of another.

Common sense prevails over Keita

It was highly anticipated, Jurgen Klopp even insisted he would not travel, and now it has finally been confirmed that Naby Keita will not be joining his national team this month.

The Guinean captain, of course, is out with an injury that has kept him out of Liverpool’s squad for the Champions League group stage.

A statement from the Guinean Football Federation (FSF) has explained that “due to his physical state of health”, Keita will not join Guinea for their clashes with Algeria and Ivory Coast.

Instead, he will remain on Merseyside for further treatment for an injury which, according to Klopp’s latest update, is said to spread “somewhere in October”.

It is still suggested that the opinions of the FSF and Liverpool differ, but the club overrides the country in this tug-of-war.
