Liverpool held their final session at the AXA Training Center before the trip to Napoli in the Champions League, with a 22-man squad in training.
The Reds fly to Naples on Tuesday afternoon, ahead of their first Group A match, but before that, Jurgen Klopp and his team supervised an open training session on Merseyside.
It was 19 outfield players and three goalkeepers who were put to the test, including the return of Thiago, who is now fully fit after a hamstring problem.
However, the trio of Jordan Henderson, Fabio Carvalho and Curtis Jones were absent, along with Ibrahima Konate, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Caoimhin Kelleher and Calvin Ramsay due to long-term injuries.
Continued problems within Klopp’s squad saw Stefan Bajcetic, Isaac Mabaya, Melkamu Frauendorf and Fabian Mrozek called up for first team training.
Whether they will be involved at Napoli remains to be seen, although there is a strong possibility that Bajcetic will make the matchday squad as one of the 24 men registered for the Champions League.
Klopp faces a series of important decisions about his starting line-up at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, with decisions to be made in defense, midfield and attack.
Joel Matip is fit again, but there is a compelling argument for Joe Gomez to keep his place alongside Virgil van Dijk in central defence.
Thiago could be given an immediate starting job following injuries to Henderson and Carvalho, while the loan signing of Arthur is in contention for a full debut.
Darwin Núñez was all smiles as he continued his integration, although whether the Uruguayan starts is up for debate, with Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota as options up front.
It was a positive session overall, as recent struggles for form clearly didn’t affect morale within Klopp’s squad as they prepare for a return to European action.
The manager will give his pre-match press conference on his arrival in Naples at 7pm (BST), and will be accompanied by a member of the first team.
